  FA Bidding Rules
Posted by: Billy - 05-24-2020, 23:15 - Forum: Two Minute Warning Transactions - No Replies

Bidding
A bid on a player is considered closed and final when 48 hours has passed since the last bid. All bids are for the amount of the total contract. Bids simply must be in multiples of $100k. The minimum annual salary is $500k. The minimum bid raise is $500k for a total bid less than $10m, $1m minimum raise for total bids higher than $9.9m. Once a bid is closed, the GM must decide on a contract for the player.

A manager does not have to have the roster space or cap space to bid on a player. This is due to the non-guaranteed contracts utilized in this league, a manager can make a couple quick moves to get under the roster limit and salary cap to take on their new free agent signing.

A team can have no more than 5 winnings bids (bids that they are leading) at once. Once one bid is won or bid up then you can bid again. If you go over 5 winning bids, you will be warned of it. If you then do it again, you will be banned from bidding for a period of 24 hours (your valid bids will stand but you cannot place anymore bids for 24 hours)

Added 6/23- There is to be absolutely no editing or deleting of bids. If you place a bid, that bid is locked in unless the bid is upped or it is an illegal bid.

After a bid is won

Teams have 48hrs to post roster moves to make room either for salary, roster spot or both for a winning FA bid. Time starts from when I or another commissioner post asking for corresponding move or contract.

If a team does not make the necessary moves, the the player will go back to free agency. The team will also be assessed the cap hit associated with dropping a player of the winning bid's contract

Contracts Guidelines-
Salary range, Maximum Years

$1m or less = 2 years

$1.1m - $4.9m = 3 years

$5.0m - $9.9mm = 4 years
$10m or higher = 5 years (max years is 5)

  Roster Set-Up
Posted by: Billy - 05-24-2020, 23:13 - Forum: Rules - No Replies

Initial Roster
The start up draft will have 2 rounds. The first round you will draft an entire team's offense and the 2nd round, you will draft an entire teams defense. From the offense and defense, you will choose a beginning roster. Must select at least 20 players and up to 30 players from the beginning offense and defense
Contracts can be found here:http://www.spotrac.com/cap-tracker/nfl/and we will be using Annual Average Salary. We will provide a spreadsheet with your initial roster to avoid confusion. (Some draft picks may still be unsigned at this time. If this happens we will use our best estimate)

Salary Cap:
$130m per team

Roster Guidelines:
Each teams roster must have at least 30 players on the team (IR players will count to the 30 minimum) from Week 1 till the end of the season. No roster may ever have more than 45 active players (with the exception of IR players)

Active Roster:
Offense (11)
1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 3 RB/WR/TE, 1 K
Defense (11)
2 DE, 1 DT, 3 LB, 2 CB, 2 S, 1 Utility Def player

Total Roster= 45 (24 bench spots)

Injured Reserve/Suspended Players
There are 3 IR spots. Suspended players may also be placed on the IR. Both are out of the control of the fantasy GM and a fantasy GM should not be penalized by the actions of a player or rogue commissioner and his agenda. You may dictate ONE IR player as a cash exemption (meaning his salary for that year is wiped from the books). This may only use on someone who is officially ruled out for the year (such as Carson Wentz in week 13 from this season). Once you've posted to use it, you cannot change the player it goes towards.

  Contracts
Posted by: Billy - 05-24-2020, 23:12 - Forum: Rules - No Replies

Contracts
Contracts are always listed in terms of flat salary and the last season of such contract. For example, $10m (2020) is a contract the pays $10m each season through the 2020 season.

Except for any contract inherited in 2018, all contracts must be no longer than five years. Also, for a given salary, all contacts have term limits (max years contract can be per the salary) as provided below.

Salary range, Maximum Years
$1m or less = 2 years
$1.1m - $4.9m = 3 years
$5.0m - $9.9mm = 4 years
$10m or higher = 5 years (max years is 5)

Releasing Players Under Contract
All contracts are non-binding, you may release a player at any time. However, bonuses are given to each contract for the duration of the contract that will count against your salary cap. They are as follows:

Player's yearly salary/amount of bonus each year:
$1.0m or less = no bonus
$1.1m - $3.0m = $500k
$3.1m - $5.0m = $1.0m
$5.1m - $7.0m = $2.0m
$7.1m - $10.0m = $3.0m
$10.1m - $15.0m = $4.0m
$15.1m or higher = $5.0m

IF a team releases a player, they cannot resign that player for a period of 30 days. IF they do, the players original contract will be restored.

Contract Buyout
For a contract buyout, a GM must pay his bonus salary for the current season, plus all salary bonuses in each year after in the current season. This will allow a GM to not accrue any cap hits for any future years of a forfeited contract. No buyouts allowed once playoffs start.

Example: If a team releases Adrian Peterson $18.0m (2014), he is due a signing bonus of $5.0m per year. Therefore, the team must pay his bonus this season ($5.0m) plus his 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 bonuses, a total $20.0m. Therefore, a team may release Adrian Peterson, and not take a cap hit to his contract for any season after the current one if the team pays $20.0m for a contract buyout in 2010.
