FA Bidding Rules - Billy - 05-24-2020 Bidding A bid on a player is considered closed and final when 48 hours has passed since the last bid. All bids are for the amount of the total contract. Bids simply must be in multiples of $100k. The minimum annual salary is $500k. The minimum bid raise is $500k for a total bid less than $10m, $1m minimum raise for total bids higher than $9.9m. Once a bid is closed, the GM must decide on a contract for the player. A manager does not have to have the roster space or cap space to bid on a player. This is due to the non-guaranteed contracts utilized in this league, a manager can make a couple quick moves to get under the roster limit and salary cap to take on their new free agent signing. A team can have no more than 5 winnings bids (bids that they are leading) at once. Once one bid is won or bid up then you can bid again. If you go over 5 winning bids, you will be warned of it. If you then do it again, you will be banned from bidding for a period of 24 hours (your valid bids will stand but you cannot place anymore bids for 24 hours) Added 6/23- There is to be absolutely no editing or deleting of bids. If you place a bid, that bid is locked in unless the bid is upped or it is an illegal bid. After a bid is won Teams have 48hrs to post roster moves to make room either for salary, roster spot or both for a winning FA bid. Time starts from when I or another commissioner post asking for corresponding move or contract. If a team does not make the necessary moves, the the player will go back to free agency. The team will also be assessed the cap hit associated with dropping a player of the winning bid's contract Contracts Guidelines- Salary range, Maximum Years $1m or less = 2 years $1.1m - $4.9m = 3 years $5.0m - $9.9mm = 4 years $10m or higher = 5 years (max years is 5) |
