  Free Agency
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-24-2020, 22:34 - Forum: Quest for Lombardi: Rules - Replies (3)

Free Agency Period
Free agency will open up on a determined DATE. Free agency will close at the start of the playoffs.  That means no more new player bids once Week 13 comes around.

Bidding
- A bid on a player is considered closed and final when 48 hours has passed since the last bid.
- All bids are for the amount of the total contract.
- Bids must be in multiples of $100k.
- The minimum annual salary is $400k.
- Once a bid is closed, the GM must decide on a contract for the player.

Minimum bid raises:
Less than $5.0m = $200k min raise
Between $5.1m and $9.9m = $500k min raise
$10.0m and over = $1.0m min raise
$50.0m and over = $5.0m min raise (New for 2022 season)

A manager does not have to have the roster space or cap space to bid on a player.  This is due to the non-guaranteed contracts utilized in this league, a manager can make a couple quick moves to get under the roster limit and salary cap to take on their new free agent signing.

After a bid is won:

Teams have 72hrs to post roster moves to make room either for salary, roster spot or both for a winning FA bid. (Clock starts from the time we ask for contract or corresponding roster move)

If a team does not make the necessary moves, the team will be assessed the bonus cap hit associated with dropping a player of the winning bid's contract. The player will then go back into the FA pool.

  Extensions
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-24-2020, 22:31 - Forum: Quest for Lombardi: Rules - Replies (2)

Extensions

Extensions can only be given in the last season of a player's contract or after the final season of a player's contract before the league rolls over to the next league year.  Salary is based on player's top positional ranking from the last two complete seasons. If in offseason, last two complete seasons and current season if before week 11 of current season, after week 11 of NFL season then it will be last complete season and current season.  Contracts are subject to maximum years and bonus guidelines, as follows:

REGULAR SEASON, PRE-NFL WEEK 11 (2017): 2015 and 2016 rankings are used (Prior 2 seasons)
REGULAR SEASON, AFTER NFL WEEK 11 (2017): 2016 and 2017 rankings are used (so current and 1 yr prior)
OFFSEASON (between 2017 & 2018); 2016 and 2017 rankings are used

Note: Values will be adjusted every three years based on contracts within the league.  The highest paid player at that position will set the top value, then the rest will go down from there.  In the inaugural season, the top salaries where utilized as a base, slight modifications were made to make the scale flow down the rankings.  Next value update will be after the 2023 QFL Offseason Free Agency Period.

50% Rule: Player will not sign an extension for less than 50% of the annual value of his current contract. Thus if Drew Brees is currently making $20.0m, then his extension price would be at least $10m. (New for 2022)

1 Year Extensions: If a player is signed to a 1 yr extension, then the following season he will automatically become a free agent. If Drew Brees signed a 1 year deal for $10.0m, then it will be reflected as 2022: $10.0m, 2023: UFA on your spreadsheet. The UFA tag will stick with the player even if traded. (New for 2022)

Trades

The trade deadline will be Tuesday Morning 3:01 EST (12:01 PST) that completes week 10. Any trades posted and accepted by both parties before then will be honored and voted on to be processed as soon as it passes

- All players can be traded.

- Cash can be exchanged on a contract as long as the cash is equal to or less than the contract of the player/players being traded. And you cannot pay more on a player than any on of their salary dictates (meaning if a player makes $2m in one season then you cannot pay more than $2m on their salary in one season)

- Draft picks can be traded, but only for the next 2 draft (so right now, 2019 and 2020 draft picks can be dealt). This is due to the league being a money league and will discourage owners/GMs from depleting a team and then not returning. If a team is deemed to be depleted and abandoned, league management reserves the right to award compensation picks to the depleted team in the new owner process. At the start of this league, you will need to pay in for 2 years and after that each year, you will just need to pay another $30 for the following year (if you decide you do not want to continue on as owner after 1 of the 2 paid for years, your team will be sold for the $30 that you already paid and you will receive the $30 refund for the team)

A trade committee of 7 members will vote on trades. There must be 4 approvals to approve the trade.
-Trades will be voted on for a period of 48 hours (from the time that both parties involved have accepted trade). If after 48 hours, not all 7 committee members have then the trade will be passed if majority votes are for approval.

  Entry Fees/Payouts
Posted by: Billy - 05-24-2020, 22:03 - Forum: Rules - Replies (2)

Entry Fee: $35.00 per team. Upon joining, 2 seasons' must be paid for (allows 2 years of draft picks to be tradeable at once) for a total of $70at the start but then $35 each following season which will always keep us a year's ahead in terms of entry fees paid. Money to be paid directly to fantrax (entry fee will be shown as $70)

Payouts:

$35*2 (2 years paid up front) * 24= $1,680- $79.95 (fantrax fee)- $840 (money to be rolled over each season since we pay a year in advance)= $760.05 total pot to be paid out each season

*As of 05/07/2020, we are no longer requiring to pay 2 years up front UNLESS you trade a future pick. So if we are in the middle of the 2021 season and you trade a 2023draft pick, you must immediately pay for the next season. The payment would have to be made before the trade can be processed.

Make the Playoffs (8 teams)- $20 per team= $160
1st Round Winners (4 teams)- $40 per team= $160
Make the Finals (2 teams)- $100 per team= $200
Super Bowl Winner (1 team)- $200 per team= $200.05
Top Scoring Team (non-playoffs) in each conference (2 teams)- $10 per team
