  Payouts
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:57 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Payouts:
Entry fee is $40.00 per season.
Total Pot is $1100.00 with Payouts as follows:

Playoffs - $20
1st Rd Winners - $30
2nd Rd Winners - $45
Finals - $75
Winner - $100
Best Regular Season Record in Each Conference - $30
Slam Dunk Champ - $20
3 Pt Shootout Champ - $20

The remaining $20 will go to a league discretionary fund. Money in the fund will be used toward abandoned/unsold teams to either incentivize new owners to take bad teams or to compensate the league office if they have to run an orphaned team. None of this money will go in the commissioner's pocket. It merely prevents the commish from having to foot the bill and keeps the pot full each season.

EDIT on 3/20/23: Fantrax premium league service raised by $20 thus pot drops from $1120 to $1100. Will offset that by dropping 3 Pt and Dunk prizes from $25 to $20 each. League discretionary fund will drop from $20 to $10 each year.

  Releasing Players
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:55 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Releasing Players:
-You will incur a cap penalty for the release of ANY player. The hit will be 75% in the current season, 50% the following season, then 25% for each remaining season.
-Cap hits are rounded to the nearest $0.1m
-You may not bid on a player that you have released for a period of 30 days. If you resign a player, their original contract is restored.

**Once the playoffs start, you can not buyout a contract. Ex. if you have a player under a $4m salary for 2 years, you can not pay the entire $4m penalty in that season once the playoffs start. This is done to prevent an owner from circumventing the system to gain extra cap space by paying extra salary in a year that have closed transactions already.

Players with salaries $1.0m or less are no longer eligible for free drops!

  Extensions
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:54 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - Replies (3)

Extensions:
Can only be given in the final year of a player's contract.
Salary is based on player's top overall ranking from the last two seasons (current and 1 yr previous) and is subject to maximum years and bonus guidelines, as follows...
-Before February 1st, extensions are previous 2 seasons.
-After February 1st, extensions use the current season and the previous season.
RFA Deadline is December 15th every year.

... I will keep the player rankings for previous seasons in the Roster Spreadsheet to make it a little easier to find them

  Draft
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:52 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Draft:
Beginning in 2020 we will hold the rookie draft each year after the NBA Draft. It will be 2 rounds as usual. Teams may trade their draft picks for other draft picks or players.

All 1st round picks will be placed on 2 year deals + 2 team options + RFA after the team options.

2nd rounds pick can be placed on 1, 2 or 3 year deals at $0.8m if placed on the NBA roster. They can be waived with no cap penalty ONLY during their rookie season.

Draft Order
The Order for the playoff teams will be in reverse order of record (regardless of which teams play in the NBA Championship game).

We will follow the result of the NBA Lottery for the KTR Lottery Draft Order. Thus if the Suns have the worst overall record in the NBA and they select 3rd after the lottery is drawn, then the worst record in KTR will also draft 3rd.

  Trades
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:48 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Trading:
Trading is allowed obviously. An owner may pay for partof a players contract for that year or even future years in a trade to make the trade work out if cap is an issue in the trade. 110M is the hard cap and cap cannot be traded meaning the only money that can move in a trade is the money that someone might pay for a player. Only the owner that owns that player can pay part of that player's contract in a trade. If 3 or more teams are in a trade, that 3rd team cannot pay part of a salary going from team 1 to team 2 or vice-versa. If money is being paid in a future year when that season is a team option, the option must be picked up in order for money to be paid on that player. A player picked up in FA cannot be traded within 30 days after signing.

Trades are to be posted in the transactions board and must be agreed upon by both owners involved in a trade. Trade voting will cease 48 hours after all involved owners have agreed to the trade. This is how a trade must be posted:

Team A trades:
Kevin Durant 25.5M (2021)
Team B trades:
LeBron James 27.0M (2022)
*7.5m paid in 2020

Make sure to include if any money is being paid in the deal.

Money Paid in Trade:
-An owner can pay up to 100% of a traded player's salary in years 1 & 2.
-An owner can only pay up to $5m or 25% on a contract in any following season. (Whichever amount is higher)

Trade Voting:
Vetoes are the worst part of a league but it's a necessary evil. A trade should not be vetoed because someone in your division is getting better. However "collusion" isn't the sole reason for a veto either. New owners and owners with poor track recordsshould receive more scrutiny on their deals.

- Commish Power: Laimbeer40 has the ability to "Rubber Stamp" an obviously fair or minor trade. If this power is used the trade will be immediately processed and no voting period is necessary. (Can not be used on trades where his team is involved)

- There isn't a magic number of approvals or vetoes needed for a trade to pass or fail. It will generally be obvious if the trade is problematic after the votes come in.

  Free Agency
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:46 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Free Agency:
Free Agency will be year round except for the playoffs.
Any player released or not resigned will be available for FA.
Bidding will be done in the transaction board and it is in terms of overall salary. Once you are the high bidder for 48 hours you will win the said player. After winning the player you have 72 hours to post the contract that abides by the Contract rules.
You can only have a max of 5 winnings bids at any one time. If you have 5 winning bids, you must wait for one of them to be finalized or to be outbid before you can bid again.
At no time may the team go over the cap. So if you have 2m in space you are not allowed to have outstanding bids that total more than 2m at any point.
At NO TIME may you edit a bid after it has been posted. If you edit a bid, it will be invalid.

Restricted Free Agency:
If a player is an RFA then bidding will be done for the said player. The team who currently owns the player does not need to bid. Once the high bid stands for 48 hours the owning team has the option to match the offer. If they match it, they keep the RFA for that cost. If they do not match it, the RFA then goes to the winning bid. The team will have 48hrs to match the offer or the player is lost.
An RFA may be extended before December 1 of the last year of the contract. When extending an RFA you multiply his extension salary by 1.2 resulting in his salary.
In RFA, if a player is not bid on, they may be signed to the league minimum of $0.8m for 1 year or they can be released to FA.

Once RFA starts you can no longer trade RFA rights. Any deal for an RFA after bidding has started must be done as a sign and trade thus you have to have the cap space to match the RFA bid prior to trading.

If you bid on a player and decline to sign them, then you will still incur a cap penalty as if you signed and released them!

Free Agent Bidding
Please follow this table for the guideline to minimum bid raises:

$0.8m thru $5.0m - min raise is $0.5m
$5.1m thru $20.0m - min raise is $1.0m
$20.0m thru $50.0m - min raise is $2.0m
$50.1m and over - min raise is $3.0m

  League Setup & Start Up
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:45 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

League Setup:
This will be a paid league run on Fantrax. There will be a $40 entry fee.
$110M Salary Cap... Must stay under cap in current AND any future seasons at all times.

League Startup:
There will be a team draft to start this league. It will begin promptly once we have 30 paid owners. You will be drafting an NBA franchise and will inherit their roster as depicted on the league spreadsheet. Anyone not listed on the spreadsheet will be free agents (aside from players in the rookie draft). The order for the franchise draft will be randomly generated. We will follow that with a rookie draft which will be in the reverse order of the franchise draft. (Ex: If Charlotte Hornets are picked 30th in the franchise draft, then they will get the 1st pick in the rookie draft).

  Fair Play
Posted by: Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020, 02:44 - Forum: Kiss The Rim: Rules - No Replies

Anti-Tanking Rules

Tanking is heavily frowned upon. Owners who tank will not be invited back to the league the following season.

Approved Tanking: You do not necessarily have to start your best players. But you do have to set a lineup. If you have an active player on the bench and an open spot in your lineup that is not acceptable. Also do not fill your lineup with injured/suspended/unsigned players rather than an active player.

Inactivity Rules

Failure to log in to DHQ for 90 days may lead to the league office taking control of your team and you will be removed from the league with no refund.

Failure to set your lineup in Fantrax for 2 straight weeks will lead to a warning. Repeat offenders risk being removed from the league.

Effective January 1, 2020 there will no longer be "approved tanking"
