Trades - Laimbeer40 - 05-25-2020

Trading:
Trading is allowed obviously. An owner may pay for partof a players contract for that year or even future years in a trade to make the trade work out if cap is an issue in the trade. 110M is the hard cap and cap cannot be traded meaning the only money that can move in a trade is the money that someone might pay for a player. Only the owner that owns that player can pay part of that player's contract in a trade. If 3 or more teams are in a trade, that 3rd team cannot pay part of a salary going from team 1 to team 2 or vice-versa. If money is being paid in a future year when that season is a team option, the option must be picked up in order for money to be paid on that player. A player picked up in FA cannot be traded within 30 days after signing.

Trades are to be posted in the transactions board and must be agreed upon by both owners involved in a trade. Trade voting will cease 48 hours after all involved owners have agreed to the trade. This is how a trade must be posted:

Team A trades:
Kevin Durant 25.5M (2021)
Team B trades:
LeBron James 27.0M (2022)
*7.5m paid in 2020

Make sure to include if any money is being paid in the deal.

Money Paid in Trade:
-An owner can pay up to 100% of a traded player's salary in years 1 & 2.
-An owner can only pay up to $5m or 25% on a contract in any following season. (Whichever amount is higher)

Trade Voting:
Vetoes are the worst part of a league but it's a necessary evil. A trade should not be vetoed because someone in your division is getting better. However "collusion" isn't the sole reason for a veto either. New owners and owners with poor track recordsshould receive more scrutiny on their deals.

- Commish Power: Laimbeer40 has the ability to "Rubber Stamp" an obviously fair or minor trade. If this power is used the trade will be immediately processed and no voting period is necessary. (Can not be used on trades where his team is involved)

- There isn't a magic number of approvals or vetoes needed for a trade to pass or fail. It will generally be obvious if the trade is problematic after the votes come in.
