CIN was in dire need of warm bodies for its pitching staff,�so�they used some cap room, plus a low-level spec and late pick,�to acquire one in Duffy. He won't be on any AL Cy Young watch lists, but he fills a need all the same.

Confirm. In light of SP's that I picked up recently (Pineda, Ray, Cease, Lauer), Duffy became expendable. The added cap room allows me to extend a few guys that I'd like to extend. I also need to build up the minor league system for this team, and picking up Gonzalez and pick 4.9 is a start.
