avatar
Pretty sure GIG and baseball leagues will be following suit shortly.
avatar
So all active leagues here will be at new site?
avatar
https://dynastysportshub.proboards.com We're moving leagues to a new site folks. Several users report not being able to access this site anymore. New board will have 3 admins instead of one absent admin so we should be able to keep things better updated.

1.3 pick in gig is on the block if anyone is interested
avatar
gotcha... makes sense. I just have draft brain right now and I'm a degenerate lol.
avatar
the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.
avatar
gig untimed start now?

Way to go QFL. Another great draft in the books
New owner draft or keep as is?

OK so looks like we have 8 open teams going forward. How would you all feel about comboing them all and doing a new owner draft from that player pool? Some of the teams are in OK shape, some are in bad shape. Open to ideas. but need to begin recruiting asap either way.

Please share your thoughts here.

Finding owners for 8 orphans is a lot. I think you'll find it much easier if you have new owners draft players and picks from the orphaned teams.

Plan B may need to be contraction if that doesn't work.

I like the idea of a draft.... what new owner wouldn't want to have a chance to build their own team? A baseball league I'm in does this every offseason and it's great. New owners can trade picks in the dispersal draft, so it gets the existing owners really involved as well. I think it's a great idea to stimulate activity league-wide.

I would vote contraction. This will be the 3rd start/restart since it started on our last forum. I got outvoted to restart last time while having a top team and the bottom 2/3rds were out or fighting for playoff spots, clearly want a restart. Its a complete bummer to waste time on the last years to only restart again when i would assume most with bottom half + teams would prefer a chance at drafting a better team.

Sounds more like a redraft league than a dynasty. I wouldn't mind something like that with the shrunken participation, but this would have to completely revamp how the league works on here.

Yeah Scally I had thought about that too. Making more like the football version of NP. Making it say, 24 teams instead of our current 30. We'll see. I'm gonna think on it this weekend.
To be clear, this draft would only be for the new owners, not our existing teams, but yes, point well taken.

I like the idea of an 8-man draft. I definitely prefer we keep 30 teams, but it is certainly been an issue here. To maintain an active league, owners need to be replaced when they disappear. That means bringing in someone to take control of an abandoned team for the free in hopes they stick with us the following offseason. Lots of these teams were dumped all year long, which makes them even less appealing to an outside party.

1) do we want to continue at all?
2) is TV the only one who is doing any kind of recruiting?

Seems like it is a league/site people are in to play in, but not willing to help keep alive.

I do think the in-season monitoring is the x-factor that has been missing. Not sure it would solve all of the problems but it would make life much easier.

Of course the other thing that would improve retention is having to be paid for 2 seasons. That would be new and would need to see if that would be a non-starter for people.

I think it’s hard to get an outside party to buy in for 2 years here. But I like your thinking. To play you must pay one forward, new owner or not. I don’t know the ins and outs of Treasurer but if they left I would assume the league still keeps the money in that scenario?
