gotcha... makes sense. I just have draft brain right now and I'm a degenerate lol.
the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.
Trade: SAC & LAC

Kings acquire:
Austin Reaves Clippers acquire: Ausar Thompson Financials > SAC covers 3.6M on Ausar for 2024 (salary neutral) This is admittedly a gamble, as Ausar has an undeniably higher ceiling, and whatever Monty is doing to Ausar with this minutes stuff is certainly only temporary. That being said, it's a cash year for the Kings, and Reaves absolutely helps us out more this season. Plus Reaves contract extension is a bargain, and helps offset some of the ceiling loss. I hate losing Ausar to an intra-conference foe, but I wanted Reaves stat profile more. We'll see how this one plays out. Should be interesting. LAC to confirm.

Confirm.
Losing out on my boy Reeves is difficult, but acquiring a top talent like Ausar made it worth the risk. As Faux points out, this is a very interesting gamble for both sides, as I am certainly competing this year as well but liked both the long term potential and Ausar's ability to rebound and get steals/blocks. Will certainly be watching this closely over the next year plus. Thanks for the fun talks and I will see you in the playoffs my friend!

Quick Addendum.
SAC will cover an additional 300K on Ausar for 2025 LAC will cover an additional 300K on Reaves for 2026 #MathIsHardSometimes

-Ausar is #63 dynasty asset (and dropping)... Ranked 132nd in FTX
-Reaves is #128 dynasty asset... Ranked 65th in FTX Clear example of a team gunning it to win this year and a team looking to straddle the fence. We will look back at this trade as potentially the reason SAC wins the West. Like ThePetis said, fun trade. |
