Pretty sure GIG and baseball leagues will be following suit shortly.
avatar
So all active leagues here will be at new site?
avatar
https://dynastysportshub.proboards.com We're moving leagues to a new site folks. Several users report not being able to access this site anymore. New board will have 3 admins instead of one absent admin so we should be able to keep things better updated.
avatar
1.3 pick in gig is on the block if anyone is interested
avatar
gotcha... makes sense. I just have draft brain right now and I'm a degenerate lol.
avatar
the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.
avatar
gig untimed start now?

Way to go QFL. Another great draft in the books

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Houston Rockets

Ownership Rating: 10 (Coming off their worst season but they still have good will built up from 3 Finals appearances and 1 World Title. That good will may not last forever though)

Studs: James Harden... and Buddy Hield???

Cap: $19.3m

2023 Picks: 1.6, 1.25 and 2.6

UFA: Maxi Kleber

Outlook: This is a team that historically trades their picks and recently that hasn't gone great. The Beard has been a constant on this team. Buddy Hield stunningly finished 22nd in Fantrax last season. Bojan is another decent piece. But after that they have to hope draft disappointments like Jaxson Hayes, Chuma Okeke and James Bouknight figure things out.

How to Improve:

*Draft Well - Easier said than done but 1.6 has to bring you a starter. Then 1.25 needs to be another solid rotation guy whether it be a rookie or via trade.
*Let Kleber Go - Maxi is a good end of the bench guy but not worth what it would cost to extend him
*Alternate Plan - The other way to go would be trading 1.6 for someone like CJ McCollum and going for broke. There is enough talent in free agency this season to where that could be a viable option.

Indiana Pacers

Ownership Rating: 10 (Easily the most accomplished franchise in the league. 4x Finals Appearances and 2x Championships. Never won fewer than 52 games in a season)

Studs: Steph Curry, Jrue Holiday, N.Vucevic, potentially D.Bane

Cap: $17.2m

2023 Picks: 1.2, 1.21 and 2.2

UFA: Tim Hardaway Jr (released)

Outlook: It's easy to see the path for another deep playoff run. Honestly their biggest decision will be Scoot vs B.Miller with pick 1.2 but they will likely add at least 2 more contributors in the draft and maybe another 1-2 in free agency. They should be loaded yet again.

How to Improve:

*You Tell Me - TMurphy doesn't need my help. He should be the one writing this advice for owners!

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Los Angeles Clippers

Ownership Rating: 8.5 (1x Finals appearance and coming off another playoff appearance. Another season under new management and playoffs are likely unless they get crazy)

Studs: DeJounte Murray, Julius Randle, DeMar DeRozan and OG Anunoby all had Top 35 finishes last year

Cap: $9.8m

2023 Picks: 2.17

Outlook: They have 7 rostered players who are all key contributors. The key will be how they fill in depth with their remaining $9.8m in cap. That is more than enough to fill in 5 spots if they grab a couple of vets on them cheap. The playoffs are in their future but sometimes new owners get tempted to blow things up.

Los Angeles Lakers

Ownership Rating: 9.5 (1x Finals appearance and only one season with a losing record. Impressive consistency)

Studs: Jimmy Buckets

Cap: $3.3m

2023 Picks: 2.23

Outlook: They could be on the outside looking in this season. There isn't much cap or draft capital to get better. They took a huge gamble on Ben Simmons and it would be shocking at this point if he added any value. The supporting cast doesn't do much to excite.

Memphis Grizzlies

Ownership Rating: 9 (What a turnaround for this franchise! Won the Championship out of nowhere last season. This franchise looked to be dead a few years ago)

Studs: Kyrie Irving, Lauri Markkanen, Franz Wagner

Cap: $0.3m

2023 Picks: 2.22

Outlook: Only 9 players on the roster without enough cap to add another player. May need to make a move. But they won the title with only 10 players last year so maybe you don't have to go 12 deep despite what porn has taught me all these years.

Let's bring in the new year with

TRADES I THINK SHOULD HAPPEN - 2024 edition

Portland trades:
SG Khris Middleton $16.2, 16.2 (salary match this yr... POR pays $8m next yr)

Milwaukee trades:
SG Ben Sheppard $1.6m (2027 RFA)
2024 MIL 2nd

... POR trades Middleton who doesn't help them tank to a MIL team that is cap strapped and could really use a SG. Blazers pick up prospect in Sheppard and a 2nd to assist their rebuild efforts.
===============================

New Orleans trades:
SG Eric Gordon $2.5m

Indiana trades:
2024 HOU 2nd
C James Wiseman $0.0m, RFA

... Pels really don't have much use for Eric Gordon this season or next. He would fit great on the Pacers roster. Indy flips one of their 2nds and a lotto ticket in Wiseman who could go pretty cheap in RFA bidding.
===============================

Houston trades:
SF Bojan Bogdanovic $9.0m (PIF this yr)

Brooklyn trades:
2024 Indiana 1st

... Nets looking for a difference maker at SF and willing to cash in a pick to do so. Bojan has a decent extension price but HOU won't be competing soon so might make more sense to grab a pick and go young.
===============================

Utah trades:
PG Russell Westbrook $18.7m (PIF this yr)

Detroit trades:
PG Scotty Pippen
2024 DET 2nd

... Westy is a true rental and could be what is needed to propel DET into the Eastern playoffs. Pippen was off everyone's radar until a week ago so trade the prospect now and attach a 2nd for insurance.
