White Sox move Kikuchi (paying his salary) for Colin Moran (and his entire salaries), Enmanuel Valdez and the Pirates 1.24 pick next year.� �Alan to confirm.� �I've got money to burn and need to keep pumping talent into the farm.� Valdez has been absolutely thumping and just got a promotion and I add a first round pick next year to boot.� �No brainer on my end.

Confirm. Needed to make a trade with a team that is in selling mode to make a net gain this year in exchange for future contributors. Was not interested in doing an even-even trade with another team in contention.

Looked over all of the teams that may be in selling mode and there are no longer many veterans available among them. Being concerned about Ryu being injured and other inconsistencies in my rotation, decided that SP is my greatest need and Kikuchi was my best option, so I made this offer.

I also needed a little more cap space, hence the Moran addition. Enmanuel is tearing it up with a 1.112 OPS this year, so this was the compensation for taking on Moran's salary.

Talks with Rob are always interesting. He replies in a timely manner (which is refreshing) and is building an excellent team. I hope that I can win one before his team gets good.

Technically Valdez can't be moved yet (30 day rule), but given that CHW have over $80m in cap (more than double the next team) and can win whichever prospect FA they want I'll overlook that.
