Playoff Set-Up:

8 teams: 3 division winners from each conference. Best non-division winner from each conference gets wildcard berth.

Playoffs start week 14. Top seed in each conference plays wildcard team in round 1 and 2/3 play each other. Winners then play each other to determine who goes to super bowl.

Update for 2019 and on:

Starting in week 13 with 4 2 game weeks during the regular season (likely will be weeks 1-3 and then another week to try to have as few multi-weeks during bye weeks as possible):

5 teams on either conference
3 division winners on each side will get first round byes
2 wildcard teams on each side will play each other in the 1st round
Winners will play #1 seed on each side.

Tiebreakers

Division winners determined:
1.ï¿½ï¿½Best record overall.
2.ï¿½ï¿½Total season points
3.ï¿½ï¿½Third by head to head competition
4.ï¿½ï¿½Coin toss.ï¿½

Wild cards determined:
1.ï¿½ï¿½Overall record.
2.ï¿½ï¿½Total season points.
3.ï¿½ï¿½Third by head to head competition.ï¿½

Since the NFL has added a 17th game to the schedule, playoffs will now start in week 14 and last for 4 weeks. We will not add an extra game in 2021 and will instead just use the extra week to eliminate one of our 2 game weeks.

The schedule will now be 3 2 game weeks
