Pretty sure GIG and baseball leagues will be following suit shortly.

So all active leagues here will be at new site?
avatar
https://dynastysportshub.proboards.com We're moving leagues to a new site folks. Several users report not being able to access this site anymore. New board will have 3 admins instead of one absent admin so we should be able to keep things better updated.
avatar
1.3 pick in gig is on the block if anyone is interested
avatar
gotcha... makes sense. I just have draft brain right now and I'm a degenerate lol.
avatar
the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.
avatar
gig untimed start now?

Way to go QFL. Another great draft in the books

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Boston Celtics

Ownership Rating: 7 (An exit in the 1st round was disappointing last season. 2023-24 will be crucial to Boston's legacy. 1x Semis appearance)

Studs: Anthony Edwards, CJ McCollum, Pascal Siakam

Cap: $4.1m

2023 Picks: 2023 BOS 2nd (2.25)

UFA: none

Outlook: The window on this powerhouse closes somewhat after this season. Anthony Edwards will be due for a pricy RFA extension of $30m. CJ McCollum who is currently fully paid by CHI will be due for an extension of at least $19.6m. On top of that you have Okongwu's RFA extension for $8.2m and Time Lord will be due for a new deal that's you'd imagine will be more than his current $3.6m salary. So yeah there will be decisions to be made but, until then, anything short of the Eastern Conference Finals this year will be a letdown.

How to Improve:

*Take the L on Isaac - We know what Isaac can be when healthy but we don't know if he can BE healthy. That $12m salary could be huge to use elsewhere. Don't be stubborn.
*Leverage 2024 BOS 1st - You know the squad will be good next year so essentially trade a late 1st for some win now talent. Even better if fully paid.
*Don't Panic - Really just 2 spots to fill. Use 1 for a min contract guy. That gives roughly $3m this season to fill the other spot. Very doable.

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Brooklyn Nets

Ownership Rating: 6.5 (Expected to make the playoffs but were edged out despite posting a winning record for the 2nd straight season)

Studs: Joel Embiid, SGA, Tyrese Maxey

Cap: $11.3m

2023 Picks: 2023 BRK 2nd (2.13)

UFA: Devonte' Graham ($10.7m to extend is just too much), RFA Darius Bazley

Outlook: Unfortunately for BRK they play in the East otherwise they would have been in the playoffs. No reason to believe they won't be in the thick of things again this year.

How to Improve:

*Internal Growth - Fultz keeps getting better and better. Hope C.Braun has carved out a role in DEN. J.Davis finally showed a pulse to end the season. K.Edwards played minutes for a playoff team.
*Get Big - There is a lot of mediocrity outside of Embiid in the front court. Gotta get Joel a running buddy.

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Charlotte Hornets

Ownership Rating: 2.5 (Only one season with a winning record. Is Queen James actually MJ???)

Studs: Dame

Cap: $25.1m

2023 Picks: 2023 CHA 1st (3rd best lotto odds), 2023 DET 1st (1.20) and 2023 MIL 2nd (2.30)

UFA: none

Outlook: Outside of Dame they have A.Wiggins, B.Mathurin, K.Martin and Bol Bol as legit pieces. So here comes the big decision. Do you hold out hope you can get Wemby? Or do you sell the pick pre-lottery at a premium where you can add 3-4 more legit pieces? There is probably a path to the playoff either route you choose but in the East it might be a capped at a 1st round exit.

How to Improve:

*Gamble - Who really has several low cost assets to offer for a chance at Wemby? Keep the pick and try to get a generational player for like $8m per yr
*Don't Be Afraid of Penalties - CHA has a good amount of cap space. That's enough to not just fill open roster spots but also to upgrade dead weight guys like Bertans, Goga and Duncan Robinson.
*Add a Free Asset - Someone is going to get thirsty for Pick 1.20 so consider taking an asset plus their 2024 1st

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Chicago Bulls

Ownership Rating: 3 (Two playoff appearances. 1x Semis appearance. 2x Worst record in the league)

Studs: None

Cap: $40.0m

2023 Picks: 2023 CHI 1st (Best lotto odds), 2023 CLE 1st (1.21) and 2023 CHI 2nd (2.1)

UFA: none

Outlook: Nuts deep in another long rebuild. Unfortunately having a stockpile of draft picks didn't produce much star material. Jaden Ivey can be a difference maker but CHI managed to whiff on several other picks. They have to pray nothing crazy happens in the lotto. If they get Wemby watch out. They have a lot of cap to grab big names in FA and enough prospects to trade for some win now talent.

How to Improve:

*Cross Your Fingers - It can't be emphasized enough how much Wemby could change their fortunes.
*Be Patient - Don't panic on the last rookie class. Some of those guys can play and will continue to grow but it could take some time.
*Bye Joe - Try to give away a fully paid Joe Ingles for a late 2nd. Ingles won't be in your future plans so maybe a contender can use a free player in exchange for a lotto ticket.

Cleveland Cavaliers

Ownership Rating: 4 (This franchise has been in a perpetual rebuild. Kyle came in year 1 and set franchise record for wins as well as securing a 1st Rd playoff upset)

Studs: Trae Young, Jalen Green, Nic Claxton?, Derrick White?

Cap: $4.6m

2023 Picks: none

UFA: none

Outlook: Should once again be in the playoff mix but not sure they are a Top 4 teams in the East. They have the x-factor in Chet Holmgren. If he is the force that people expect, then this team can pretty much stay status quo.

How to Improve:

*Make Room For Chet - Currently not enough cap to promote Holmgren if/when he exceeds 45 GP
*Trade Justice for Anything - His $2.5m salary is better spent elsewhere

Dallas Mavericks

Ownership Rating: 3.5 (Failed to top 32 wins the past three seasons. Has two of the biggest 1st round upsets in league history under their belt)

Studs: Walker Kessler?

Cap: $15.5m

2023 Picks: 1.17 (LAC), 2.10 (DAL), 2.18 (ATL)

UFA: Pat Connaughton ($2.1m re-sign)

Outlook: Stuck in a quagmire of 25-35 win seasons Not a great place to be. Either need to blow it up or go all-in I'm afraid.

How to Improve:

*Don't Trade Kessler - Dude could win you blocks every week on his own
*Cut Pat - Got $15m to spend. Connaughton is a decent hand but this team needs that roster spot for a difference maker.
*Trade Idea - Send Lonnie Walker, Montrezl Harrell and Joe Harris all fully paid to MIL for their 2023 1st

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Denver Nuggets

Ownership Rating: 5 (Two straight 1st Rd exits. Their 3rd playoff appearance overall. Only 1 season with a losing record)

Studs: Darius Garland, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook??

Cap: $17.3m

2023 Picks: 1.19 (DEN), 2.19 (DEN)

UFA: Immanuel Quickley ($15.3m re-sign); Darius Garland (RFA), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (RFA)

Outlook: Poised to lose a big asset and maybe even two. Garland gonna get paid in RFA. And Quickley is probably too expensive. This is a prime turning point for a hard rebuild.

How to Improve:

*Sell, Sell, Sell - RBW and LBJ are both in their final year and not getting younger. Offer to trade them while eating a lot of their salaries. Should get a decent return.

2023-24 Offseason Preview

Detroit Pistons

Ownership Rating: 5.5 (Third straight playoff appearance last year. Great young rotation so no reason they can't make it 4 straight)

Studs: Mikal Bridgers, LaMelo Ball, DeAndre Ayton?

Cap: $16.1m

2023 Picks: 2.20 (DET)

UFA: Jakob Poeltl ($9.5m)

Outlook: It feels like most of the moves the Pistons have made lately are panning out. LaMelo has a concerning injury trend but at least Mikal Bridges is an iron man. The East is difficult but this team is still ascending as young players continue their development.

How to Improve:

*Extend Poeltl - Less than $10m and the trade to TOR proved his production wasn't just a result of getting time on a bad Spurs team. Pairs well with Ayton.
*Be Patient - Plenty of cap space after extending Poeltl. Could pick up a moderately priced FA and then just round out the roster with a couple of rotatable FA's.

Golden State Warriors

Ownership Rating: 8.5 (The playoff struggles are well documented but they made it to their first Conference Final last season)

Studs: Giannis, Anthony Davis, Myles Turner?

Cap: $12.5m

2023 Picks: None

UFA: Fred VanVleet ($24m... got damm!), Ty Jerome (RFA)

Outlook: The talent is clear but the risk is clearer. Giannis makes it challenging to win FT%. The Brow has a great contract but always an injury risk. And Fantrax loves FVV apparently. You can't pay him $24m but $12.5m in cap won't get him back in FA either. No matter how you slice it this team won't be as good next year unless they pull off a major trade.

How to Improve:

*Pull Off a Major Trade - Is it time to get like 3-4 assets for Giannis? Like maybe Kuzma, Capela, Monk and 1.11 for Giannis & Max Christie?
