Creation of a more balanced schedule

The TL;DR – currently each team has 65 matchups across the season, in a setup which mirrored the old MLB schedule with a heavier focus on divisional and intraleague opponents, and less of a focus on interleague games.

The proposal is to task the commissioners with coming up with a more balanced schedule which reflects the new realities of the MLB schedule, with more interleague matchups and fewer divisional games, without increasing the overall number of matchups beyond 3 to 4 in any single scoring period.

The detail:

Currently, our schedule is as follows:

- 1x15 Interleague games
- 3x10 League games
- 5x4 Divisional games

Each team plays 3 games per week except in the 2 merged periods of the opening week and all-star break (which contain only divisional games) and the final 3 weeks of the regular season, all of which have 4 games.

The proposal would be to create a new schedule that does not drastically increase the number of games played, because three to four matchups a week is sufficient to try and keep track of when making daily lineup decisions, but to reallocate some of the divisional games to interleague/intraleague matches.

One possible solution would be the addition of an extra interleague game per season, bringing the total number of games played to 80, or 4 in each scoring period.
