New Owner Draft

Hey all - So the other thing i am considering and would like your input on is as we finalize which teams are back and which are open, rather than just filling teams, I am proposing we hold a new owner draft, and the new owners would select new teams out of the pool of players from the currently available teams. This would only be players currently on those teams. I would allow expiring contracts for resign. If not resigning, the player would join FA. Thoughts? So far we have three open teams, and four I am waiting to hear from. Two of those owners have not been on site since July, so I am expecting at least two more, possibly four more. So somewhere between 5-7 teams.

I like this idea.... another league offiste does this and I believe it really increases overall league activity as existing owners jockey to trade into the dispersal draft.

My buddy Tyler has already joined this site and is ready to accept an invite, as well.

An orphan draft makes a ton of sense. You should also include draft picks that these teams have as part of the draft. I'd be happy to help set this up on a google sheet by having a master list and a drafted list and be the admin for it. Let me know if that helps you!

Yes, I am for this. Was wondering about the contracts and feel that picking them up adds to the strategy and enjoyment. I am good for whatever is decided. What day were you planning this?

Hopefully within a week of being full. Will def keep everyone posted as we look for the final three new owners. Also, just since we're talking about it, anyone you see not under contract on the draft tabs is still eligible to be drafted at their extension rates. Anyone undrafted of the pool, while under contract or not, will simply become FA.

Got some good questions about new owner draft so wanted to share this update. We are down to just two spots left.

Draft order will be randomized three times, and the third will be the true order. I will post screenshots of all three. Then it will reverse for the minors round, and snake in both. Anyone listed with salaries are the salaries they are drafted at. If no salary is present, they can be signed at their current extension value (if I have time before we fill I am hoping to add those values to make it easier). And there will be six total new owners in this draft.
