Milwaukee will immediately DFA Mikolas and take the cap hit for him. Milwauke will also drop Michael Rucker and Norge Ruiz as corresponding moves to make room on our roster.

Astros confirm.

While we love Larnach and Abel, we felt we needed another top arm to compete with the big dogs in the AL.

Mikolas was dead weight and taking up a valuable roster spot. Wheeler has a controllable contract that fits within our budget for the next 2 years and will hopefully make an immediate impact upon arrival.

Thanks to Brewers GM for exploring options on this deal and best of luck with your new top 100s.
