Pretty sure GIG and baseball leagues will be following suit shortly.

So all active leagues here will be at new site?
avatar
https://dynastysportshub.proboards.com We're moving leagues to a new site folks. Several users report not being able to access this site anymore. New board will have 3 admins instead of one absent admin so we should be able to keep things better updated.

1.3 pick in gig is on the block if anyone is interested
avatar
gotcha... makes sense. I just have draft brain right now and I'm a degenerate lol.
avatar
the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.
avatar
gig untimed start now?

Way to go QFL. Another great draft in the books
Trade Calculator
#1
I always have a problem with the way trades are voted on in Money Leagues. I do understand the importance of protecting the league's integrity and stability. I also agree with the idea you have to let managers, that paid their money, manage how they see fit.

Just because someone gives up 5 "little known" prospects for a top-tier player doesn't equate to a bad trade. The owner could have cap issues. Maybe he values those prospects more than others. Maybe he has actually seen them play at the college or minor-league level and he sees something you don't get out of the 15 online prospect reports you read and quote daily. DOESN'T MEAN HE IS WRONG AND YOU ARE RIGHT!!!!!!!

I've always dabbled with the idead of using a trade calculator to determine if a trade is fair. It's the only way to keep people's own bias on a player's value out of the decision making process.

This is just an example of the possible solution. Any ideas, suggestions or just comments are welcome. This design was originally started based on a points league, but could be re-configured for a category league.

Understand based on the formula below, a trade package that is valued at 6 points must get 6 points value in return.

Commissioner will approve or disapprove all trades based on a trade calculator. All trades must equal out based on trade calculator results. Stats for calculation will be the previous 2 years stats/rankings during off-season. After Week 6 stats for trade calculation will change to current year and previous year. If a player is unranked, in one of the previous years use just the year’s where he acquired stats. Trade values are as follows:

Major League players
Avg Rank in 2 seasons of Total FP and AVG FP per game (Using both allows inclusion of a higher value if a player was out due to injuries)
Players are ranked by 3 categories: Hitters, SP and RP (if a player is both SP/RP then use highest ranking)
Avg Rank 1-25 (5 pt)
Avg Rank 26-60 (4 pt)
Avg Rank 61-150 (3 pt)
Avg Rank 151-250 (2 Pt)
Avg Rank 251+ (1 pt)

Minor League Players (using MLB Prospects Rank)
Ranked 1-5 on any MLB team prospect list (3 pt)
Ranked 6-15 on any MLB team prospect list (2 pt)
Ranked 16-30 on any MLB team prospect list (1 pt)
Not ranked (1/2 pt)

Draft Picks (Free Agency and Minors)
1st Rd DP (3 pt)
2nd RD DP (1 pt)
3rd RD DP (1/2 pt)
ALL OTHERS (1/4 pt)

So for example, let’s take Jeff McNeil, OF, NY Mets
2019 total fantasy points (396) (rank 56)
2019 fantasy points AVG per game (2.98) (rank 57)
2020 total fantasy points (111.5) (rank 127)
2020 fantasy points AVG per game (2.14) (rank 180)

Add up all for ranks 56+57+127+180=420 div by 4 = 105
105 ranked hitter’s trade value is 3 pts
Therefore to trade McNeil you’d have to get 3 pts of value in return.

Now a pitcher, let’s take Zac Gallen, SP, Arizona
2019 total fantasy points (154) (rank 113)
2019 fantasy points AVG per game (10.27) (rank 44)
2020 total fantasy points (143) (rank 15)
2020 fantasy points AVG per game (11.92) (rank 23)

Add up all four ranks 113+44+15+23=195 div by 4= 48.75
48.75 ranked SP’s trade value is 4 pts
Therefore to trade Gallen you’d have to get 4 points of value in return
