I'll approve this version in spite of thinking that this is still a gross undervalue for Acuna. But if Sky is willing to fight this hard to allow it to pass, I'm not going to stand in the way.

Short term Bos wins this deal. Long term KC wins it. Mondesi may help dominate the SB cat and while Sandoval was not a ranked prospect but did have solid minor league stats and almost pitched a no-hitter tonight. Both are mid-20's. Acuna at 23 and 17M per yr is possibly the best value in this league. Bos will have about $10M X 5 extra cap in future years to spend, but it will be tough to replace Acuna's future production.

Bottom line is Bos is currently 3rd overall and got a couple good pieces plus Baddoo and Piscotty to make a run at the title this year. All in for this year. Reminiscent of the Cubs' Gleyber Torres for Chapman trade. Bad trade long term for the Cubs, but it helped them win a championship. (Not comparing Torres to Acuna, but at the time it looked like Torres was going to be a perennial top 25 player or better.) Like the 2016 Cubs, Bos has to win the championship this year to make this trade worth it.
