Important Dates:
November 15- Keeper deadline 
November 16- Trading reopens
December 15- Draft begins
January 4- 2021 payment must be in
January 18 (tentative)- Free Agency begins


Reminder on Keeper rules:
you can carryover 35 MLB and 20 Minors per season.

• Keepers must be declared by November 15 this yer 
  
  
• Any players with salaries over $5m per year will carry penalties if not kept to prevent over inflating salaries or offering long-term deals to older players or those not worth of contract. 
  
• Contracts between 5.0-8.0m per year will carry cap hits of $2m per year for the length of the contract if not kept.  
  
• Contract over between 8.1-12m per year will carry cap hits of $3m per year
  
• Contracts over 12.1m per year will carry cap hits of $5m per year for duration of contract
  

When determining salary for drop/cap hit please average the remaining years (not including options).
example- John Smith has 3 years left at 4,8,9 million per year.  Those equal $21m which would come out to $7m per year or a cap hit of $2m for each of the 3 years to drop/not keep him.

Please also decide on any contract options listed on players for the 2021 season.  

Extensions:
Now that we are in the offseason and 2020 was played as a full year, extensions take the highest rank for the 2018, 2019 and 20 seasons.  For 2020 you will find the value of a player and divide it in half.  So if the shortened 2020 season was their breakout and $20m is the extension value, that new value is $10m unless 2019 gives them a higher value.
