Important Dates:
Return deadline: Oct. 31

December 17 - Keeper deadline
January 2 - 2024 payment deadline
January 2 - Trading reopens
January 15 - Draft begins
February 1 (tentative) - Free Agency begins
August 25 - trade deadline, prospect extension deadline, buyout deadline for current year cap
August 26 - Start of playoffs

Reminder on Keeper rules:
you can carryover 35 MLB and 20 Minors per season.

• Keepers must be declared by December 1 this year
  5M and under - no penalty
  5.1-8M - 2M penalty
  8.1-12M - 3M penalty
  12.1-15M - 4M penalty
  15.1-20M - 5M penalty
  20.1-25M - 6M penalty
  25.1-30 - 7M penalty
  30.1-35 - 8M penalty
  35.1-40 - 9M penalty
  40.1+ - 10M penalty
  

When determining salary for drop/cap hit please average the remaining years (not including options).
example- John Smith has 3 years left at 4,8,9 million per year. Those equal $21m which would come out to $7m per year or a cap hit of $2m for each of the 3 years to drop/not keep him.

Please also decide on any contract options listed on players for the 2024 season.

Extensions:
Since we are entering 2024, for offseason extensions, you'll use the last two season (2022 and 2023).
