the thought was to wait until after the bulk of memorial day weekend so as to not stall out for a couple days, but I suppose there is no harm in it.

I meant to address this when it popped up a few years back, but forgot.
Beginning next year, players can be placed on the IR as soon as they are placed by their real-life teams. Currently we wait until opening day.

Do we need to wait until they get moved in spring training or can we use it during FA when the player is known to be headed to the DL(similar to BTL)?

Boss not sure how you want to handle this but I believe we were already processing IR moves before the season started.

OK that was what I couldn't remember. So I think then if they have been placed in real life, they are good. I think that was the issue.

So just to be clear, going forward, players are IR eligible as long as they have been placed in real life.
