The Philadelphia Phillies and Cleveland Baseball Team have reached a trade agreement.�
PHI sends:�
C Wilson Contreras (6.5 in 21, 6M in 22, 4M in 23)
CLE sends:�
P Clarke Schmidt (pc-na)
Contreras is probably our last key bat to deal during our current phase of rebuild, and netting a solid pitching prospect, albeit one with renewed injury concern, is a return we like at this point. Here's to hoping Schmidt can stave off the injury bug that's seemed to plague his early pro start. Thanks to pete for the talks best of luck this season. CLE to confirm.

Cleveland confirms.... time to start turning a few of these specs into pieces we can use next season and thereafter. We feel we have plenty of depth in the minors on the pitching side, so while we like Schmidt, we're comfortable giving him up for a stable piece behind the plate.

Contreras has been hurt a lot and struggling lately but can be a stud C if he can stay healthy and Schmidt is a solid prospect at 25 who has already made his debut, so I think this is a fair trade. approve.
