Changes for shortened season - Ace - 07-04-2020 Schedule/Playoffs 3 divisions (East, Central, West); play every team in your division each week for 6 weeks (54 games) and then 3 weeks of playoffs. Top 8 teams make the playoffs (1st and 2nd in each division and 2 best 3rd placed teams). First placed teams will be seeded 1-3, rest based on record. Re-seeding for second round (so highest remaining seed plays the lowest). 8 teams make the consolation bracket (remaining 3rd placed team, all 4th and 5th placed teams and the best 6th placed team). 3rd placed team will be top seed, rest based on record, re-seeding for second round. Payouts We will play for 50% of the pot and everyone will have $30 rolled over toward the 2021 entry fee ($1720-$900=$820) Make top 8 playoffs = $30 1st place in division =$20 First round win = $30 Second round win = $45 WS Champs = $60 ($570 total) Make consolation bracket = $15 First round win = $15 Second round win = $20 Consolation winner = $30 ($250 total) 5 completed weeks required for any payouts to be awarded (would be 25% of pot), otherwise season is declared void. 6 weeks = 33% of pot, 7 weeks = 40%, 8 weeks = 50% Important Dates 7/16/20 - Free Agency Re-opens 7/23/20 - Opening Day 8/4/20 - 10% surcharge for extensions and 2020 release penalty goes from 75% to 90% 8/13/20 - Extension Deadline 9/3/20 - Trade Deadline 9/10/20 - Free Agency Deadline Temporary Rule Changes IL increased to 5 spots. 5 games in current season (rather than 10) required for positional eligibility. Pitching limits will be 15 IP minimum for regular season and 25 IP minimum for playoffs (down from 20 and 30 respectively). Quality Start category will be changed to Quality Appearance (any outing of 5 IP or more with an ERA of 4.5 or less). Trading Will officially re-open July 16th (teams can negotiate before this if they wish). Newly signed/extended players can be traded after 30 days except for free agents with contracts averaging over $1m. 2021 Draft Positions will be based on an average of 2019 and 2020 standings. If season is void then 2019 standings will be used.
