I was very much hoping to get some SF help for the pick, but pairing Clarkson with Conley in-case of injury, and banking a solid young asset in Clarke was enough to offset that concern. I would've liked to hold the pick longer and see what other assets might have come available, but in a weird COVID year, I figured depth was the smarter play anyway.

Pleasure doing business with the Pelicans. I appreciate him upping the ante like he did to climb to the top of the heap. Lots of interested parties on this one.

Pels to confirm.

Pels Confirm.

This is a rebuild season and our team weren't going nowhere. Clarkson was an FA guy easily replaceable and Clarke, although came into season with a lot of upside has his FG% and TO as the best cats, meaning that his upside is capped at top 50. Getting a 3rd first round pick was a priority and this move also facilitates my tanking mode and also get some extra money for FA next season. Right now Toronto is 28th, so hopefully the pick will end up a lottery one. Also, based on how weird this season is, its better to bet on picks as there gonna be a lot of rest days and teams with low depth will be worse than what they appear to be.

Best of luck to faux, I am still regretting my Wood trade last year, but I am new to this and still learning. Hope this will end up a better deal for me
