Pirates send:
SP Shane Bieber 18m '24 thru '26
As defending champions our window is NOW. No brainer move to add a former Cy Young winner to our staff. It has also been well documented this off season Bieber has put in a lot of time at the Driveline facility. So we love the fact that Bieber has that intrinsic motivation for the 2024 season.
The Pirates receive a lefty SP in Whisenhunt who is currently on MLB Pipeline's top 100 list. Last season Brito got on the prospect radar with his performance. The Guardians backed up their belief in Brito starting him at high A last season and ended his season at AAA. Also protecting him from the rule 5 draft this off season putting him on the 40 man.
Last but not least, I like to call Harris "Freeman Lite" as a 5-tool athlete. Harris has raked at every minor league level with the Rangers. He is on the 40 man roster and is projected to contribute to the big league club at some point this season.

Pirates confirm.
Had initially hoped for a bit more impact prospect return when we shopped Bieber with his salary covered, but happy to go down the route of more quantity than outright quality with this deal, allied with reasonable proximity to the majors, as we're saving the cap space into the bargain for extensions and future additions.
