My cap space was getting a little too tight, so I set out to off-load a little salary, and that is my primary motivation for making this trade.� Last time Lincoln and I talked trade, he told me that it is easier to make a deal with the devil than with me.� This time we started off lost in the woods, but used a flashlight app to discover some moss on the side of a tree, and eventually was able to work our way to a path that led us to this agreement.
Short has obp / some power & speed and low avg.� Smith has been good in the minors but not a good 25 y/o rookie year with the A's, but I like the potential in both of them.
Good talks with KC the sunshine kid and he will confirm.

Have liked Fulmer for years, hopefully he makes himself a mainstay in the Cubs backend this year and beyond.
