League Updates - OCT 9 DRAFT - tomviolence - 10-02-2022
Hey everyone! Cliff from the Detroit team here is going to be co-commish this year to help get this thing off the ground He's run a keeper league similar in numbers to what we have now (we're still looking to add one more). Here is the idea:
"the NHL season begins Oct 7 with 2 games in Praque, the league season will begin Tuesday, Oct 11 to end Thursday, April 13, 2023. We can make this keeper league with each team owner must select 6 keepers from their franchise NHL team name including a goalie before the live draft (set for Sunday, Oct 9, 7 p.m. EDT at fantrax with 1.5 min clock) In the course of the season the team owner must always have at least 5 skaters and 1 goalie from that franchise NHL team name on their roster (start, bench, & InjRes). If one or more of the team owner's players are traded to another NHL team the team owner retains player grandfathered.
I will set up all team players at fantrax so each GM can select their 6 keeper players, deadline Sun Oct 9 at 12 noon."
Then my thought is that gives us lots of room to expand into a full dynasty in the future (at which time when we hit critical mass we would likely redraft with dynasty in mind).

Hi,
First of all I'd like to appreciate the commish for setting up everything as well as spending all the effort to recruit everyone. However, I would like to resign from my spot in the Frozen Glory league due to the fact that I joined under the impression of this would be a dynasty league with contract. I understand the difficulty in recruitment as well as the changes needed to be done in order to move the league along but I already am in several keeper leagues myself and participating in another keepers isn't what I'm looking for right now. Therefore, instead of joining but not giving it my 100% interest and devotion, I think it's for the best that I sit back for now.
Should the league be looking into turning into a full dynasty league, I would be more than happy to join again if you guys will have me.

Nelson...I hear you and understand fully your concern about this league. The chances of 100% participation by all GM with this one year format is unrealistic. Do not want anyone to quit that has signed up as this league just wants to operate as a keeper league in 2022-23 and in preparation to become a full dynasty league next year. The live draft is a GO as long that there are 14 registered GM & teams on record. You never know that this may be an enjoyable league.
