Tor-Pit Trade - alanv25 - 02-19-2021 Tor sends: David Dahl 4.0 x 3 Zach McKinstry 600k x 6 Dylan Cease 600k x 2 Pit sends: George Springer 10.2, 10.2, 15.7 My team is in limbo land where it's not quite good enough to win a championship and has no good prospects or draft picks to make it better, so decided to trade one of my older veterans (Springer age 31) for a trio of major league ready players. I don't want to do a full rebuild. Also gaining about 5M in cap on this deal. Baby Dahl is 26 and projected to start in CF for the Rangers this year. Remember he came up with high expectations and did have some good stats before he tanked in 90 AB last year. There is still time for him to hit his potential. McKinstry is 25 and currently blocked from being a starter in LA, but is only an injury or trade away (or at worst, a couple years away) from starting. He's had some very good runs in the minors with OPS of .900 and better a few times. Cease is still going through some growing pains, but has the potential to be a #1 or #2 starter. Hoping he can turn it around like Giolito did and my starting pitching definitely needs it. While I was unable to pry away a higher potential player like Kyle Tucker, I'm happy to get this return. While Springer is under a good contract for the next couple year and will be a top producer for the next few years, I'm happy with the potential that this trio of players offers. Tor to confirm. RE: Tor-Pit Trade - SPowers - 02-19-2021 Toronto confirms. After trading for JRam we've decided to open up the competitive window. Since then we've only made a few smaller moves (Canha, Cooper, G. Soto), this is one takes a bigger step towards reaching the playoffs as soon as this season. While Springer is 31+ the Blue Jays signed him to a 6 year deal so that signals they expect at least his next 3 years to be productive. Still think Dahl can bounce back, but I decided it's worth giving up some extra pieces to get a CF with a proven track record. Moving Cease is a little tough since we also believe he has loads of potential and this now leaves a hole in our rotation. But hoping to pick up a veteran arm in FA or use my strong farm system to trade for a SP. Thanks for approaching me with the offer, Pitt. I have Cease in another dynasty league so I'll still be rooting for his success. RE: Tor-Pit Trade - tomviolence - 02-19-2021 approve RE: Tor-Pit Trade - SandlotLinC25 - 02-20-2021 Approve. Interesting deal. RE: Tor-Pit Trade - andyscott23 - 02-22-2021 approve RE: Tor-Pit Trade - SactoSolon - 02-22-2021 Approve RE: Tor-Pit Trade - patjossom - 02-24-2021 Veto. Didn’t get anything of use even in a 30 team league. I don’t usually post guys on the TB and move them for players I want, so I get that, but you can’t tell me you got anything you wanted. This is bad and disappointed in the GMs that approved. RE: Tor-Pit Trade - JMAC - 02-24-2021 I veto this as well. Dahl is nothing special at this stage, cease has some upside but been disappointing big time. Springer still will rake for a few years. Zero value back IMO RE: Tor-Pit Trade - Branum #20 - 02-26-2021 Hate to see Springer come to the AL East, but not a veto for me. Approve RE: Tor-Pit Trade - Tucci905 - 02-28-2021 Approved |
